Fertility Versus Attractiveness

In a recent study, University of Oxford found that ugly men release more sperm during sex. This means that women who want to get pregnant may increase their chances of conceiving if they find themselves an ugly partner.

The theory goes something like this. Attractive men are more likely to mate more often. Their bodies somehow know this, so they produce less sperm per ejaculation in an attempt to “save” some for the next event. In this manner, they are able to increase their chances of successfully mating with as many partners as possible.

Ther article is really more geared towards animals than humans, so it’s a bit sensationalistic to say it applies to men and women. But I think it’s an interesting concept.

I’d like to see the study redone on male humans to see if it holds true!
